Our School Policies

North Reading School of Ballet and the instructors are not liable for personalinjuries or loss of or damage to personal property. When you register, you give North Reading School of Ballet permission to use dance photos of your child for Internet publicity or advertising purposes. You also agree that you are responsible for tuition payments as described in the brochure. Your signature indicates that you have read the policy statements and waiver of liability and hereby agree to comply with them.

  • Respect
Respect is a mutual ground for student and teacher.
Our students grow and bond with one another respecting
themselves, other students, and the grounds they learn in.

  • Timeliness
We expect our students to be on time for their class. There is no excuse for being late. It disrupts other students, the teacher, and results in the student missing essential warm up stretches. Arriving a few minutes early will allow the students to chit chat in the dressing rooms, and come in to class ready to learn and have fun.

  • Make-up Lessons
Please call if you know you are going to be absent. Make-up lessons are offered for absence due to illness and must be used within one month of absence. If you cannot participate due to mild illness or injury, you are encouraged to come to class and watch. Tuition credit is not given in place of make-up lessons.

  • Dress Codes
All students must have their hair pulled away from face in a pony tail or bun. Boys must wear black dance pants, white t-shirt, and black jazz and/or tap shoes. Each dance class, has a dress code for what color tights, leotard, shoes, etc. Please check see the specific dance class for the appropriate attire for your class. Jewelry is not allowed. Please leave it at home or in the dance bag.

  • Placement
Students will be placed in classes that are appropriate for their level of physical and mental development. If at any time the director feels that the placement is incorrect, the student will be changed to the appropriate class.

  • Notices
Notices are posted on the bulletin board and emailed to every customer.

  • Recital
Our annual recital takes place in June. Although it is not mandatory, we encourage participation as it is a rewarding experience and builds confidence. Recital costumes are ordered in late fall and must be paid in full at time of registration.

  • Closings
We will follow the North Reading Public School cancellation policy. When North Reading Schools close due to inclement weather, we will be closed. Please call the studio at 978 664-6433 for up-to-date information.
